Type species: Myelaphus melas Bigot, 1882: 91
Remarks: Lehr (1999) placed this taxon into the subfamily Dioctriinae.

Key to the species

1 Face reddish brown, with prominent transverse oval protuberance, just below middle, whose lower surface is sculptured with 2 or 3 curved concentric grooves. Scape, and thorax, mostly reddish in ground color . . . . . Myelaphus melas Bigot, 1882 [CA]
